A Dream Elopement at Duart Castle, Isle of Mull

Scotland is an iconic destination for elopements, with its rugged landscapes, historic castles, and unparalleled romance. When Victoria & Scott chose to elope at Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull, they created an intimate and unforgettable celebration that perfectly reflected their love story. As Scottish wedding videographers, we were honoured to capture every emotion, every breathtaking view, and every small, meaningful moment of their day.

Why Mull? A Magical Location for a Scottish Elopement

Nestled on the coast of Mull, Duart Castle stands as a historic fortress with stunning views of the Sound of Mull. For couples seeking a Scottish elopement location, this castle provides an incredible blend of history, adventure, and breathtaking scenery. Victoria & Scott chose this location because of its deep connection to Scottish heritage and its fairytale-like charm, making it an idyllic setting for their special day.

A Sun-Filled Celebration & A First for the Team

One of the most memorable aspects of this wedding was the gorgeous, sunny weather—a rare but welcomed gift on the west coast of Scotland! This elopement also marked our first time working with the talented photographers, The Sassanachs, and it was an absolute pleasure. Their documentary approach beautifully complemented our storytelling style, ensuring a seamless experience for Victoria & Scott.

An Unforgettable Wedding Timeline

Victoria & Scott’s day was thoughtfully planned to make the most of their surroundings while allowing them to truly enjoy each moment. Some of the highlights included:

  • Morning preparations at Western Isles Hotel, where the bridal party enjoyed a relaxed morning of hair and makeup while the groomsmen suited up in traditional kilts.

  • A pre-ceremony tradition: Scott, accompanied by Sir Lachlan, unearthed a bottle of whisky buried on the castle grounds—a truly unique way to honour Scottish heritage.

  • A heartfelt ceremony at Duart Castle, officiated by Andrew Penny, where personal vows were exchanged against the stunning backdrop of Mull’s coastline.

  • A lively reception at Western Isles Hotel, featuring speeches during welcome drinks and a night filled with music from Hannah & Soren.

  • An epic first dance at 8 PM, setting the stage for an unforgettable night.

The Suppliers That Brought This Day to Life

An elopement is only as magical as the team behind it. Victoria & Scott brought together some of the best Scottish wedding suppliers to create their dream celebration:
