Gordon Castle Wedding Film || Once In A Lifetime || Lauren : Nathan

A wedding day is a collection of fleeting, emotional moments—moments that deserve to be captured in a way that allows you to relive them for years to come. For Lauren and Nathan, their celebration at the breathtaking Gordon Castle in Aberdeenshire was nothing short of magical. With a focus on genuine emotion, seamless storytelling, and an atmosphere filled with warmth and joy, their wedding film encapsulates everything they wanted from their special day.

Why Capture Your Wedding on Video?

Lauren and Nathan knew that while photographs beautifully freeze time, only video could truly transport them back to the emotions of the day—the way they laughed, the way their voices trembled while reading their vows, the energy of their first dance.

"There are certain moments, like reading our vows, where we know it will feel like a blur. Although photos are a great way to relive memories, there are things only video can fully capture. We wanted something that would allow us to relive those blurry memories for years to come." – Lauren & Nathan

Choosing Cinemate Films

Lauren and Nathan were initially hesitant about hiring a videographer, unsure if they wanted a wedding video at all. But after discovering our work, they realised they didn’t want the typical, overly traditional film.

"Your videos didn’t look like cookie-cutter templates. Each one felt unique, blending high and low energy seamlessly. We loved how you captured not just what happened but how it felt."

Having worked at Gordon Castle before, we knew how to bring out the venue’s beauty and highlight the couple’s vision effortlessly. From the sun-drenched gardens to the grandeur of Tower Hall, every scene was a painterly composition of light, love, and luxury.

A Venue Steeped in Meaning & Beauty

Gordon Castle was more than just a venue—it was a place woven into Lauren’s memories. Having spent summers nearby as a child, Fochabers held sentimental value. The exclusive feel of the castle, the stunning walled gardens, and the bright, open indoor spaces made it the perfect setting for their dream wedding.

From a sunlit outdoor ceremony to the grandeur of the reception hall, every corner of this venue offered breathtaking backdrops for their film. The seamless transition from day to night, with golden-hour portraits in the gardens and a lively dance floor under the stunning skylights, made for cinematic storytelling at its best.

The Experience of the Day

Weddings are about more than just aesthetics—they're about the moments in between. Lauren & Nathan’s wedding was filled with laughter, sentiment, and some unexpected surprises. One particularly memorable moment? A whisky kegger in the parking area. Lauren’s dad had secretly brought his “good” whisky, serving a select few from the back of a vehicle in the dark—a classic Scottish touch we couldn’t help but capture.

Staying local before and after the wedding made the experience even more immersive. Late-night pizzas, laughter with the photography team, and reviewing the stunning footage of the day—it all added to the charm of this intimate yet grand celebration.

A Night to Remember

The reception was held in Tower Hall, where top lighting from the skylights illuminated an elegantly styled space. With ample room to dance, the party unfolded in full force, with Los Perros keeping the energy high and a live saxophonist adding that extra touch of luxury. Lauren & Nathan’s grand entrance—sax-ed in to ‘Yeah!’ by Usher—was a moment their guests (and we) will never forget.
