The Fife Arms Wedding Video || Chloe & Jack’s Wildly Beautiful Braemar Celebration
There’s a moment when you’re driving through Scotland, heading away from the motorways and into the wild landscapes of the Highlands, where you feel the land begin to swallow you up. It’s an incredible feeling—like stepping into a different world, one where time slows and nature takes over. That’s exactly how we felt traveling to The Fife Arms in Braemar for Chloe & Jack’s wedding, and it set the perfect tone for what was to come.
Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms, The Fife Arms isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience. A place where luxury meets art, history, and the raw beauty of the Scottish wilderness. For Chloe and Jack, who wanted a wedding that felt like an adventure as much as a celebration, it was the perfect setting.
A Scottish Adventure for an English Couple
Staying just outside of Braemar gave us the chance to explore more of the surrounding area, which only deepened the sense that this wedding was more than just a day—it was a journey. And that’s what we love most about working alongside The Caryls, the photographers for this wedding. Their focus on storytelling through adventure took us all into the wilderness for Chloe and Jack’s couple session. From a charming cottage and dense forests to a dramatic gorge with a river rushing below, every backdrop felt like something out of an epic love story.
Of course, filming in such an awe-inspiring location means working around others who are drawn to Scotland’s beauty too. At the gorge, we found ourselves weaving between climbers tackling the rocks—something we never mind doing. As filmmakers, it’s part of the craft, knowing how to frame the moment around the environment, and sometimes even incorporating it. Fun fact: we don’t have Photoshop, so rather than removing people from shots, we work creatively—tracking bright jackets and subtly desaturating or blending them into the landscape. They’re in the film… did you spot them?
The Fife Arms: A Wedding Venue That’s a Work of Art
It’s hard to talk about The Fife Arms without giving it a blog of its own. This place is like stepping inside a living, breathing art gallery. Everywhere you turn, there’s something to admire—from intricate wallpapers and antique treasures to thousands of individual art pieces, including two Pablo Picasso! (Yes, really.) For a Scottish wedding filmmaker, it’s an absolute dream, offering visually stunning backdrops at every turn.
But it’s not just about aesthetics—the heart of this venue lies in the people. The staff at The Fife Arms aren’t just there to serve; they genuinely care. Whether it was ensuring every detail was in place for the couple and their guests, or the warm, friendly service at the whisky bar, you could feel the attention to detail in every moment. Speaking of the whisky bar—while it wasn’t featured in the final film due to being fully booked, we couldn’t resist sneaking a peek. If you’re a whisky lover (and well-bankrolled), this is a must-visit. The selection here is the stuff of legends, with some seriously rare and expensive bottles behind that bar.
A Small, Intimate Wedding with Big Energy
With just 38 guests, Chloe & Jack’s wedding felt deeply personal, allowing us to really connect with their families and capture the bonds that make these moments so special. We loved how the smaller guest list gave way to bigger interactions—everyone played a part in their day, from heartfelt speeches before dinner to the energy on the dance floor when Franco, the band, took over. (Side note: Franco played at Simon’s own wedding 15 years ago—what a full-circle moment!)
One of the standout details of the day was the ceremony decor. Often, church weddings don’t allow couples much control over styling, but this one was beautifully decorated, making it feel even more personal. And then there was the light—if you’ve ever been in The Fife Arms during golden hour, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. As the sun streamed through the grand windows during the drinks reception, it cast a glow over the space that was nothing short of cinematic.
And finally, a shout-out to the driver who took Chloe & Jack to the church in the morning—because sometimes, it’s the little moments of banter and laughter behind the scenes that make these weddings even more memorable.
Why The Fife Arms is the Ultimate Wedding Venue
For couples looking for a wedding that blends grandeur with the untamed beauty of Scotland, The Fife Arms is a perfect match. It’s a place where art, history, and nature collide, creating an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and wildly romantic. Whether you’re an art lover, a whisky connoisseur, or someone who simply wants to celebrate in one of Scotland’s most breathtaking locations, this venue delivers.
For us, as wedding videographers, The Fife Arms is an absolute dream to shoot in—from the rich interiors to the wild landscapes surrounding it. And when a couple like Chloe & Jack brings their own love story and energy to the space, it becomes something truly magical.
If you’re planning a wedding here, we’d love to capture it. Because weddings at The Fife Arms aren’t just about a day—they’re about an experience. And we’re always up for another adventure.
The Creative Team Behind the Celebration
A wedding like Chloe & Jack’s doesn’t just happen—it’s the result of an incredible team of talented suppliers who bring every detail to life. The floral arrangements, crafted by Wild Flower Workshop, transformed both the church and reception spaces into something truly breathtaking. Their work gave the ceremony at St. Margaret’s Church an elegant, intimate feel, proving that even traditional spaces can be elevated with the right creative touch. The beautiful, natural photography was captured by The Caryls, whose focus on storytelling and adventure led us all into the wilds of Braemar for those epic couple shots—forests, rivers, and even a gorge playing the perfect backdrop. Chloe’s stunning wedding dress, sourced from My Funny Valentine Bridal, was the perfect balance of timeless and modern, while Jack and his father looked effortlessly sharp in tailored suits from The Bespoke Tailor, with the groomsmen complementing them in classic looks from Moss Bros. The bridesmaids' dresses, provided by To Have & To Hold Bridesmaids, tied everything together beautifully. On the beauty side, AMM Team ensured the bridal party looked flawless, and Rose Marie Nail Artist added those finishing touches. Even the finer details, like wedding stationery by Knock Knock Penny Studio, played a role in setting the scene. And when it came to the evening celebrations, Franco, the live band (who, fun fact, also played at Simon’s wedding 15 years ago), kept the energy high, leading guests from the first dance right into an unforgettable ceilidh. The entire day was a true collaboration of talent, creativity, and passion—proof that when the right people come together, magic happens.
