Isle of Raasay Elopement Film
The Isle of Raasay is a picturesque island off the west coast of Scotland, with stunning views of the surrounding hills and the sea, in fact some say you get the best views of the Isle of Skye from the island. It is home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in its own right, including rugged coastline, rolling hills, and tranquil lochs, the perfect backdrop for a Scottish wedding that is certainly unforgettable, something this celebration was!
Raasay is also famous for its hospitality, and visitors are always welcomed with open arms including through the doors of its distillery. It was during a whisky tasting the night before the wedding day, we learned of the island's rich history, with ancient ruins and archaeological sites dating back to the Bronze Age!
A Scottish wedding on the Isle of Raasay is an experience like no other, all starting from how you gain access to the island. The wedding party arrived on the island by ferry, enjoying the scenic journey across the water and if you are lucky (like us) you might see some dolphins when crossing the water. The ceremony for Marissa and Dylan’s wedding took place outdoors, surrounded by the island's stunning natural beauty exchanging vows against a backdrop of rolling hills, with the sound of the sea in the distance.
The evening reception took place in a unique stretch tent, where guests danced the night away to the sound of traditional Scottish music with a Jewish twist. As we learned firsthand, a Scottish wedding on the Isle of Raasay is a unique and unforgettable experience for all involved. The island's stunning natural beauty, rich history, and warm hospitality provide the perfect backdrop for a traditional Scottish wedding that is sure to be remembered for years to come.
