National Mining Museum Wedding Film || Loraine & Christopher || Multiversal Matters
This one was special. Not just because Loraine and Chris are an incredible couple, but because Loraine is a wedding photographer we know personally. We’ve shared drinks at the bar, talked shop, and laughed over the madness of weddings. So, yeah, no pressure at all, right? We knew we had to create something different. Something personal. Something genuinely unforgettable.
The Venue: Industrial Magic
When I (Simon) first stepped into The National Mining Museum, I knew we were in for something visually stunning. Once a key part of Scotland’s coal mining heritage, it now stands as a striking wedding venue where industrial charm meets modern romance. Train tracks, old mining carts, layers of dust and rust—it was cinematic before we even hit record. Spaces like this ignite our creativity, and we knew this was going to be a film unlike any other.
One of the standout moments for me was walking into the ceremony room for the first time. Hans Zimmer’s music filled the space, making it feel like stepping onto a film set. That moment set the tone for everything that followed.
A Wedding That Broke the Mould
Loraine and Chris didn’t want a standard wedding film. Chris, being a film lover, had a deep appreciation for cinematic storytelling, and that’s exactly what we leaned into. From the first look to the champagne tower, the day unfolded like a carefully crafted scene, filled with its own rhythm, energy, and raw emotion.
The Multiverse Edit – A Cinematic Twist
Chris’s love for superheroes, movie scores, and visual storytelling played heavily into our editing choices. One shot, in particular, stands out—Chris, split into multiple versions of himself, scattered across the frame. Using layered editing techniques, we created a seamless multiverse-inspired visual effect, a nod to his love for cinematic narratives. It’s the kind of wedding shot you don’t see every day.
This wasn’t just about documenting—it was about creating something that truly reflected them.
The Burlesque Surprise – A Wedding with Personality
The day wasn’t just about big emotional moments—it was about fun, too. A highlight for everyone was the surprise burlesque performance (which Chris had no idea was happening). We made sure to capture every expression, every reaction, weaving it into the film so it wasn’t just a ‘moment’ but an integral part of the full cinematic experience.

A Day of Unforgettable Moments
From the quiet, reflective moments of Chris and his brother getting ready, to Alfred the beagle trotting around, to the industrial-chic reception space—this was a wedding packed with meaning. Laughter echoed through the historic halls, happy tears were shed during heartfelt vows, and the dance floor pulsed with energy late into the night.
Every part of the day had its own heartbeat, and we wanted to make sure no moment was lost.
The Suppliers Who Brought It All Together
