Worth Waiting For
Why Did You Want to Capture Your Wedding on Video?:The wedding was such a rare opportunity to have all of our friends and family in the same place. We've moved around a lot, and unfortunately don't get to see our friends and family very often. Even though the day was pretty long, we knew we'd feel like it would go by in the blink of an eye. We wanted a way to remember that feeling for a lifetime and to capture all of the moments we weren't able to see.How Did You Meet?:We met in glorious Newark Airport on the way over to Edinburgh for the first time, lol. Jeremy was his typical loudmouth New Yorker self, and Monisha wanted nothing to do with him. She can literally still remember boarding the flight and thinking, "Whew, don't need to see that guy anymore." As fate would have it, we ended up having a class together and kept running into each other around campus. We finally bonded over Thanksgiving one year (Monisha was incredibly homesick and Jeremy invited her to his party), and the rest is pretty much history.Describe The Proposal?:We went back to Edinburgh for our 10 year anniversary to have another epic Thanksgiving party with our friends. Jeremy kept suggesting a hike up to Calton Hill, which was immediately alarming as we are NOT hiking people. Monisha's curiosity was piqued, so we made the trek in the rain on a particularly chilly morning. When we got up to the top, Jeremy was walking towards a monument when he immediately did an about-face and started walking in the other direction (Monisha later found out it was because he was walking to Nelson's Folly, and decided something called a "folly" perhaps wasn't the best place for an engagement...). Anyhow, upon settling on the perfect spot, Jeremy dropped to his knee and asked Monisha to marry him, after which she promptly made him agonize as she busted out some dance moves to milk the moment. But she, of course, said yes, and we began planning our dream wedding. Why this place above anywhere else:Well, Edinburgh was a no-brainer. It was where we fell in love and came into our own as a couple, and it will always hold a very special place in our hearts. The Signet Library, in particular, was fate. Monisha at 19 (after only dating Jeremy for a few months) had come to the Signet Library for a networking session for her Economics degree. The company was dreadfully boring, but she was amazed by the space. At one point, she had an image pop into her head of herself and Jeremy getting married there, which she quickly cast aside since we were so young and the chances of us being together for life seemed small. When we did defy the odds and finally decided to tie the knot, there seemed no better place.
